#현명한소비 Finally!! The week-long renovation on the veranda is finally over! We replaced the veranda window frames, which was the biggest challenge, repainted the walls and ceiling, and even changed the flooring. Every winter, the plants couldn't survive unless we put up windproof plastic sheeting because the frames were old. But starting this year, that won't be an issue anymore, so I'm so happy! 😝 Since the apartment is 30 years old, the frames were a problem, but the paint on the walls and ceiling was peeling off as well. We had managed to hold out by covering the walls with adhesive film, but the cement on the ceiling was falling off, so we decided to repair everything while we were at it. Also, when we removed the wooden deck, which was about 15 years old, we found it was rotting and crumbling... it was a total mess. 🥲 Originally, I wanted to replace the tiles, but since deck tiles seem more effective for winter insulation than cold tiles for the plants, I replaced them with cream-toned deck tiles! It was tough installing it myself in the hot summer, but cutting and connecting the pieces wasn't difficult, so I found it was definitely doable even for a woman working alone. Also, the previous window frames were old, and the green-toned glass was a bit dark. The glass color gradually turned opaque, looking as if it were fogged up. Now that it's made of clear glass, it blocks heat and UV rays, and the veranda has become so bright that even the living room looks radiant, which I love. Originally, it was a floor-to-ceiling window that didn't open in the middle, but now I can open the middle section for ventilation, which is great. The white frames also look clean and bright. The floor has brightened to a cream tone, and the walls and ceiling look tidy. The veranda looks wider, and the greenery looks more vivid, making the veranda garden look much prettier. I was really tired and exhausted from cleaning and organizing for a week in the heat, but looking at this beautiful veranda garden, I feel a sense of healing. Still... Doing construction work while living in this house is just so, so hard work 🥲 Maybe it’s because I’m getting older...
