When we first planned the interior renovation, we also wanted to replace everything with new items, from the windows and flooring to the kitchen and bathroom. Since it was our first home, we wanted to make it feel like a brand-new house. However, after receiving quotes, we found that our budget was insufficient to carry out all the renovations we wanted. Excluding the cost of the system air conditioner, the amount available for the interior was 30 million won. So, we prioritized the spaces where our family spends the most time and the areas we experience daily. We standardized the colors using wallpaper and film throughout the house, and changed the atmosphere of the home with linear lighting in the hallway and recessed ceiling lighting in the living room. On the first day of construction, we discovered that the floor condition in the bedrooms was worse than expected, so we added engineered wood flooring. We also converted the alpha room into a walk-in closet with a door. We did not give up on the home café and kitchen-fit refrigerator cabinet that my wife wanted most. Instead, we postponed replacing the window frames, common area flooring, the entire kitchen, and the veranda renovation until next time. After living here following the renovation, I am still highly satisfied with the hallway lighting, the home cafe area, and the engineered wood flooring in the rooms. On the other hand, I regret not replacing the common area flooring and the existing kitchen countertops all at once. We could not make every space look brand new with just 30 million won. However, by setting priorities based on our family's lifestyle, we were able to create a sufficiently satisfying transformation within our budget.
