During the consultation phase, the client's first remark was, "It must be because the room is small." However, upon on-site measurements, it turned out that the issue was not the size. [Situation at the Time of Consultation] The existing dressing room had a structure divided into multiple compartments. To divide the compartments, vertical side panels had to be installed in between; As the number of compartments increased, the number of vertical pillars also increased. Because these pillars constantly cut off the view, no matter how much the clothes were organized, it never felt tidy. A hinged door was added to this. For the door to open, approximately 600mm of clearance is required in front. In a space with a narrow passageway like a master bedroom dressing room, this space effectively consumes the actual movement path. Ultimately, it was a structure where the square footage was sufficient, but the usable area kept shrinking. [Structure Proposed by Ubis Furniture] We decided on a wall panel dressing room. Since panels are installed on the wall and hangers and shelves are hung on top, the vertical pillars that used to be erected for each section are no longer necessary. Because it flows as a single continuous surface from one end of the wall to the other, the view is uninterrupted, and the space appears completely open. This is why luxury department store showrooms use this structure. It is a method that makes the entire wall appear like a single screen, rather than individual clothes. By removing the doors, we also reclaimed the space previously used for opening the doors. It is closer to reclaiming the original space rather than simply reducing the amount of furniture. [Dust Issues Solved with Glass Showcases] The most frequently asked question regarding open-plan structures is about dust. Since this home requires a significant amount of storage, we designed the wall panel sections together with glass showcases. Frequently worn clothes and seasonal items were hung in the open areas so they are visible at a glance, while items prone to dust, such as bags, hats, and long-term outerwear, were organized inside the glass showcase. You can choose from four types of glass: clear, bronze, dark, and frosted. Frames are available in four colors: white, dark gray, silver, and bronze. For this project, we applied a bronze color scheme. Bronze glass has a subtle reflective quality that makes the space appear larger, and since the interior is not fully visible, it reduces the pressure regarding organization. It is a combination that blocks only the necessary areas while maintaining a sense of openness. [Panel Materials] You can choose between two wall panel materials: PET and LPM. Since the atmosphere of a space changes depending on the texture of the material, even with the same structure and color, we recommend that you check actual samples in person during the consultation before making a decision. [Lighting Design] In a wall panel dressing room, lighting is a key factor in determining the overall finish. If lighting is attached after the furniture is finished, the light bar is likely to remain exposed.
