I managed for quite a while with a 2-person set that I hastily bought when we combined our households, thinking that someday I would properly acquire a set that I truly liked. Until now, I didn't know exactly what my taste was, so I used to just collect tableware that I liked one by one. There were many times when I bought something because it was pretty, but once I actually placed it on the dining table, it didn't match well with the other dishes, so I didn't reach for it. It was only after going through a few trials and errors that I realized my taste was for minimal, basic designs that don't get boring even after long-term use and naturally complement any food. So, finally, in my third year of newlywed life, I brought home this Iittala Korean tableware set! For now, I use the basic tableware neatly, but when I want a little change, I think it would look great to mix in one or two pieces with pretty patterns like Marimekko.
