I even saw people around me debating whether or not to sue after the construction was finished, so I thought it was a relief. However, on the last day of the inspection, the contractor's team leader didn't show up. My husband and I checked it together, and we found about 15 defects. It was a day that genuinely made me furious. 🤬 I've picked out three things that really pissed me off. 1. The issue with the kitchen upper and lower cabinet frames. I emphasized this a lot starting from the initial meeting. I specifically asked that the front doors of the upper and lower cabinets cover all four sides. In other words, I wanted the frames on all four sides to be completely hidden by the doors so that the seams wouldn't be very visible. The owner of the kitchen furniture company even came in person to join us for the meeting. But since furniture installation was the last step, when I went to check on the final day, the frames were all visible like this... I'm not usually the type to complain, but the thought of living in a kitchen that was so clearly exposed like this made me feel like this wasn't right. I emphasized it several times, but it really got on my nerves. So I told them to tear everything down and rebuild it. But isn't it just ridiculous? They made the exact same mistake with the base cabinet drawers the second time around... So they tore it down again and built it from scratch... Well, it was their fault, so what could I do? Since the carpenters kept coming, the house just kept becoming a dust pit. Sigh... It was finally finished after three installations... 2. Exposed Hood Vent Just looking at the photo, you'd think, "What is this?" I mean, how can they call it finished with all that aluminum foil exposed like that...? Even my family saw it together and were absolutely horrified. When I asked if this was really the finished product, if it was true, and if they wanted me to cover it up with something, they claimed I hadn't made a separate request? What? You mean you only do this if I specifically request it? Are you saying there are really people living like this? Then why bother with the renovations? In the end, I didn't want to fight over this part, so I spent an extra 200,000 won to seal it up. 🤪 3. Switch Issue For the materials and accessories I researched myself, the suppliers always asked for links, and I made sure to send a KakaoTalk message for every phone call to keep as proof. For the switch as well, they very kindly sent me a link and even circled the color photo. Look at the result?! It's just completely different. What's with the screws drilled all over the place? If you look closely, even the type of screws was different. They drilled them so carelessly that there are cracks around where they were driven in. 😑 I wonder where they even got these parts from, leaving the links I sent behind... I even started thinking they were trying to mess with me. Or what is the reason for this... I called them right away to ask what was going on, and they claimed that the product is actually designed to have screws drilled on the outside. So, it only came to an end after I dug up and sent the KakaoTalk messages I had sent before, and even photos from someone else's construction review.
