It cost me 5 million won to remodel my bathroom😭 It cost about 5 million won to remodel just one bathroom. At first, since it was just one bathroom, I didn't realize it would cost this much... But once I actually started picking things out one by one, the total amount piled up quite a bit. 💰 Actual Construction Costs 🧱 Waterproofing: 1.4 million won 🪨 Tiles: 1.2 million won 🛁 Vanity Countertop & Bathtub: 1.3 million won 🚿 Sanitary Ware & Faucets: 600,000 won 🔨 Others: 500,000 won TOTAL: Approx. 5 million won ※ Excluding dry vanity and entrance renovations ⸻ 🛁 Bathroom tips I recommend from my own experience 🏷️ I recommend 600×600 tiles I chose 600×600 size tiles. Overall, it gives the impression of being much cleaner and more spacious. However, large tiles can increase the difficulty of installation, so be sure to check if the company has extensive experience in tile installation! 🏷️ Match the grout color to the tiles as much as possible I matched the grout color to a similar tone to the tiles. I found out that you can choose grout colors other than white! ‼️ Matching the tiles and grout to similar colors creates the impression that the surfaces are seamlessly connected, making it look much cleaner. 🏷️ Make the grout spacing as narrow as possible We installed the grout with narrow gaps as well. By matching the tile size, grout color, and grout width together, the bathroom feels much more luxurious and organized. 👉 600×600 tiles + similar color grout + narrow grout I personally highly recommend this combination. 🏷️ Plan the vanity counter from the start It creates space to place shampoo or bathroom supplies, making it more convenient to use than you might think. It is also effective for making the bathroom look neat and tidy. 🏷️ Masonry vanity sinks are pretty, but you need to consider the maintenance. They definitely give off a hotel-like vibe, but after using them myself, I found that managing the tile gaps and water stains was more of a hassle than I expected. Rather than deciding based solely on how pretty they are, I recommend choosing them with cleaning and maintenance in mind! ⛔️ If I were to do it again, I don't think I would go with a masonry bathtub.🚨 Last one🫶🏻 Tiles look completely different in images compared to the actual finished look. If you are considering remodeling, I highly recommend seeing them in person.🤍 We chose our tiles at the "Yunhyun Sangjae" showroom as a date activity. ❤️ ⸻ 📌 Things to check when getting a bathroom quote Don't just look at the tile price. ✔️ Tile size ✔️ Tile installation cost ✔️ Grout spacing ✔️ Grout color ✔️ Tile processing costs (e.g., jolly cut) ✔️ Waterproofing ✔️ Vanity counter ✔️ Bathtub ✔️ Sanitary ware and faucets Check everything together. I found that a few small details significantly influence the overall finish of a bathroom. If we were to do it again, I think we would stick with the 600×600 tiles, tile-matched grout, and narrow grout lines exactly as they are.
