I simply applied new adhesive film to the existing built-in wardrobe and re-wallpapered it. Even without removing the wardrobe or having a new one made, just changing the film significantly reduced the old-fashioned feel and made the entire room look much cleaner. For small spaces like the small room, I think it is a good idea to utilize existing storage and only change the visible parts, rather than bringing in a lot of furniture.
