Although it is possible to have it installed while living in the house, I heard that since it requires ceiling work, it is generally better to do it together with the interior renovation. In particular, when I lived at my parents' house, there were only air conditioners in the living room and my parents' room, so I always spent the summer in my room using a fan 🥲. So, for our newlywed home, I decided, "Let's install air conditioners in every room, even if we have rooms we don't use!" So, in our 24-pyeong apartment, we installed a total of four units: one in the living room and three in the bedrooms. Since we have unified all our other appliances with Samsung, I initially wanted to match the air conditioners with Samsung as well. However, when I looked into it ahead of the summer installation, I found it difficult to book on my desired schedule. LG quotes were about 1 million won higher than Samsung's, so I hesitated, but I eventually decided on LG to fit my schedule. I initially hesitated because of the price, but now I am actually quite satisfied with it! For system air conditioners, the outdoor unit and installation costs have a much greater impact on the overall estimate than the price of the indoor unit. I thought a 4-horsepower unit would be sufficient for a 24-pyeong (approx. 79 sq m) room, but I installed a 5-horsepower outdoor unit based on the installer's recommendation. I was a little disappointed at the time because the price went up again, but I think it was ultimately a good choice because I can use it without worrying about capacity even when multiple rooms are using the air conditioner simultaneously. In actual use, there were far more things I was satisfied with than I expected. It allows for everything from automatic drying and scheduled operation to detailed temperature and airflow control, so I used it very comfortably all summer long. I also liked that LG continues to add new features through software updates. Among the recently updated features, I use the "Soft Airflow" setting the most! When I left the air conditioner on for a long time, it would suddenly feel too cold even at the same temperature setting, so I used to constantly adjust the temperature up and down. However, since using the "Soft Breeze" feature, the airflow feels much more comfortable, so I no longer feel the need to constantly turn the air conditioner on and off. Also, what I am most satisfied with about installing the system air conditioner is definitely the space utilization. In a 24-pyeong apartment, there isn't as much spare space as you might expect once you've filled in the essential furniture in each room. If I had to secure a separate spot for a floor-standing or wall-mounted air conditioner on top of that, furniture arrangement would have been much more difficult. Since it is installed neatly on the ceiling, it doesn't take up space, and it is incredibly convenient to be able to use the air conditioner immediately from any room. Considering the price alone, it was quite a significant "flex" among the appliances in my house, but even if I were to remodel again, I think I would install system air conditioners in every room. Just being able to keep the entire house nice and dry all summer long is enough to make me satisfied; it is my number one regret-free appliance flex in my home ❤️
