While metal or wooden shelves are sometimes used for plant arrangement, I place paper boxes and metal shelves side by side in front of the sunny living room window and place a greenhouse on top to arrange the plants. Since placing only shelves side by side in front of the window can block the view and feel cramped, I found it better to place paper boxes or drawers in the center of the window where I can put potted plants without obstructing the view when sitting on the sofa.
