In a newly built dressing room, adding more furniture actually makes it feel smaller. When preparing to move in, you might think simply adding another chest of drawers or a clothes rack will solve the problem, but in reality, the opposite is often true. When furniture is divided into multiple pieces, the visual flow is constantly interrupted, making the space appear even smaller. 📌 Reasons why storage is insufficient in newly built dressing rooms Standard furniture has difficulty accommodating wall lengths and ceiling heights that vary from unit to unit. If it doesn't fit perfectly, the remaining space is covered with molding. Also, since the layout is primarily composed of clothes racks and shelves, there is a shortage of upper compartments for bulky items like bedding or suitcases. As a result, about two months after moving in, bedding ends up on the balcony, and suitcases end up under the bed. 📌 Try this instead ✔ Connect the furniture in a single line, not breaking it up If you connect the wall from the master bedroom to the dressing room area as one continuous line, the leftover spaces between furniture disappear, increasing total storage capacity. Additionally, the uninterrupted visual flow makes the room appear larger. ✔ Design from the top first. Duvets take up much more space than clothes. Determining the size of the upper compartments first and then allocating the rest reduces the risk of failure. ✔ Install lighting together with the furniture. If you attach it later, the light bar is likely to be visible. If you carve a groove during the fabrication stage to embed it, it will look like a single piece of furniture. If it uses a door sensor system that turns on when the door is opened, you won't even need to look for a switch. ✔ Check if the structure can be modified later. If shelves and drawers can be moved individually, you won't need to rebuild them even if your wardrobe grows or the seasons change. ✔ Match the tone with the walls. Using colors close to the walls, such as white tones or textured concrete white, makes the furniture blend in with the wall rather than standing out, making the space look more organized. 📌 Save this and review it before moving in. #Built-in Wardrobe #드레스룸 #드레스룸붙박이장 #신축입주 #아파트입주 #수납인테리어 #집꾸미기 #아파트인테리어
