A bathroom look commonly seen in older apartments from the early 2000s. A huge, old-fashioned vanity. White tiles with a central accent tile strip. A large mirror on the wall. Even a small storage cabinet in the corner. (My parents' house currently has a bathroom just like this, haha.) When deciding on the scope of the remodeling project, I made sure to include the bathroom, which was full of old-fashioned vibes, in the construction no matter what. Key points of our bathroom remodeling! ✔️ Cost-effective materials : I chose the Inus line for the toilet and vanity. ✔️ Matched the concept rather than the brand : Since our home's interior concept was centered on straight lines and squares, I selected all accessories, including faucets, based on products that are as angular and retain a sense of linear beauty as possible. : For accessories like the toilet paper holder, I unified them with matte chrome material to highlight a clean metallic look. ✔️ Tiles within budget : I coveted the luxurious look of 600x600 tiles, but to save money, I chose 300x600 tiles for the walls. I chose 300x300mm tiles for the floor. Considering the low ceiling height of the older building, I installed the wall tiles in long vertical strips to create the illusion of a higher ceiling. For one wall, I installed white subway tiles as an accent to add a light, airy feel. ✔️ Unifying the material for the sink plumbing The sink plumbing was a real dilemma since it is an older building. Because the drain pipes connect to the floor, I had to either install a pedestal sink or use exposed piping. (Since the space is narrow, I couldn't even switch to a wall drain.) The pedestal sinks were either awkwardly sized or didn't fit the concept, and the exposed pipes looked tacky. While I was debating this, I found a straight drain pipe made of the same matte chrome material as the bathroom accessories, and installed that! Thanks to that, it looks neat even though the pipes are exposed. This is our bathroom, completed with great value for money. I'm not sure if it's a hotel-style bathroom, but I think I've managed to create a clean look, haha.
