My home is an older apartment building that is about 27 years old! The bathroom I first encountered was in its original state, with yellowed tiles full of signs of age and walls cracked in places. I wanted the bathroom to look spacious and bright, so after much consideration, I decided to unify the entire space with a warm beige color! Matching the tones definitely had the effect of making the space look much larger👍 ✔️ 600×600 Tile Installation I unified both the walls and the floor with large 600x600 tiles. Since I matched the grout color to the tiles as well, the boundary lines are barely visible, making the bathroom look much more spacious. Best of all, because the number of grout lines was drastically reduced, I worry less about water stains or mold, making cleaning incredibly easy! ✔️ Hinged Mirror Upper Cabinet I had a dream of just hanging a pretty mirror, but I couldn't give up on practical storage. There were many reviews saying that flap-type cabinets break frequently over time, so I chose a sturdy hinged type. It looks like a sleek full-length mirror on the outside, but the storage inside is ample, so I am very satisfied. ✔️ Tile-type Drain I chose a tile-type drain that fits directly into the floor tiles. Since the drain is not visible, the floor looks like a single continuous piece, making it look much cleaner. I was worried because I heard that the drainage is slow, but since we use a dry bathroom and don't use much water, we are using it very well without any inconvenience. ✔️ Custom-made Vanity I had a long vanity custom-made to place frequently used toiletries. Since I don't need to install a separate shelf, it looks visually very neat. Maintenance is very easy because I don't have to worry about water stains; I just wipe the water off after showering. ✔️ Matte Accessories & Built-in Toilet Paper Holder I unified everything from the faucet to the towel rack with a matte finish. Because there is no reflection typical of glossy surfaces, the overall atmosphere looks calm. I had a misconception that matte finishes are difficult to maintain, but actually, water stains and fingerprints are less noticeable than on glossy surfaces, making it look cleaner! Maintenance is finished just by wiping it with a dry towel after use, so it is much more convenient than I thought. I highly recommend the built-in toilet paper holder, in particular! It slides right into the wall, making the space look wider and is sturdy. I think it is really important to enlarge the tile size and match the tones, especially in small bathrooms.
