There was an awkward empty space next to the washing machine, so I felt it was a waste to just leave it empty, so I put in a slim shelf. Since I gathered everything from detergent to refills on one side, the area around the washing machine looks much less cluttered. Also, if you roughly divide the space—putting frequently used items on the top shelf and spare supplies on the bottom—it actually makes things surprisingly convenient to take things out haha.
