The day summer spoke to me ☀️💦 I walked along the Han River with no specific purpose. I just wanted to walk. I thought that if I walked slowly along the river under the hot sun, the tangled thoughts in my head might sort out a little. As I walked, I discovered a swimming pool near Yanghwa Bridge. ‘It’s hot, so this is perfect.’ I paid the entrance fee without much hesitation and went in, and perhaps because it was early morning, there was no one in the pool. With a fluttering heart, I dipped my feet into the water. The coolness that started at my toes spread throughout my body, and as I quietly watched the sunlight breaking over the cool streams of water, my mind, which had been so cluttered just moments ago, became strangely quiet. Thinking about it, summer seems to be both hot and calm. It is hot, dazzling, and sometimes so intense it takes your breath away, but in certain moments, it is infinitely calm like this. Walking under the hot sun, I took out and looked at the things that had been accumulating in my heart, one by one. With the calm Han River beside me, I slowly distinguished between what is okay and what I can now let go of.
