Our entrance features a typical layout found in some older apartments, complete with a large vestibule. To ensure comfortable movement upon entering through the inner door, I placed a narrow shelf and displayed plants and my own creations on it, making it a pleasant experience to step inside. The protruding boiler meter—a hallmark of older homes—is completely concealed by using an IKEA dishcloth and repurposing a canvas frame I had left over. Since the location for removing shoes in the vestibule was awkward, I bought a large rug and laid it down; this naturally helps organize the flow of movement, which is great. Because the living room window and the vestibule window face each other, opening them creates a cross breeze, providing excellent ventilation.
