Previously, water dripping from the sponge would sometimes spill out of the holder and wet the shelf, but since this one has a long drip tray, the water collects well at the bottom. This reduced the need to constantly wipe the surrounding area after use, which was surprisingly convenient. The material is 304 stainless steel, which seemed decent considering it is a product used frequently in the kitchen. The design is also clean and not overly decorated, so it didn't feel bulky to place next to the sink. Honestly, since a sponge holder is such a small item, I wondered if I really needed to replace it. However, perhaps because it is something I use every day, I am more satisfied than I expected as it solves my inconveniences one by one. In particular, if you dislike seeing your sponges or are bothered by water spilling around the holder and wetting the shelf, I think you will immediately understand why this is necessary once you use it.
