I used to think that food waste disposers were big and took up a lot of space, but the newly released 3rd Generation Hurom Food Waste Disposer caught my eye right from the start because it is much smaller and neater than I expected! Above all, its compact size of about 27cm—about the size of a hand span—means it doesn't take up much space anywhere in the kitchen. It is small enough that you can tell its size at a glance from the front, side, and back, so I thought it would be a perfect fit for newlyweds or 1-2 person households with limited kitchen space! The design is also clean and sleek, so it blends in naturally like a small appliance even when placed in a corner of the kitchen :) And since it is a 2025 Good Design Award winner, the design is perfect too…! And what I particularly liked was the Vegetable & Fruit Mode! Compared to the basic mode, you can see that the Vegetable & Fruit Mode finishes with slightly more moisture. The resulting vegetable and fruit byproducts can be used as fertilizer for potted plants, so I found it quite versatile! The Hurom 3rd Generation Food Waste Disposer reportedly uses PCR ABS material, an eco-friendly material made from recycled waste plastic. It feels compact yet packed with essential functions, so it is quite a welcome product for me, as I used to be secretly stressed by the daily food waste!
