The living room is the central space of the home. It is the space where I spent the most time deliberating on the concept first when decorating our newlywed home. I have long dreamed of owning a white fabric sofa. So, I decided on a white fabric sofa for the living room first and then planned the overall styling around it. 🤍 Moana's House Living Room Styling Tips 🤍 STEP 1. If you find living room styling difficult, start by considering which sofa to place, as it is the largest piece of furniture. Tip ✨ This also means that you can freely change the entire living room concept depending on your sofa choice. If you are not yet sure of your taste, I recommend choosing a sofa that is comfortable and pretty, yet does not put a heavy burden on your budget, so that you can easily change it at any time. I purchased the Hanssem Nup Sofa. Since it is a modular sofa, it is very useful because you can freely change the layout. STEP 2. Now, visualize the overall atmosphere you want for your living room. The reason I had a dream of owning a white fabric sofa was because I wanted a warm and comfortable living room atmosphere. To match this, I chose an Issira Maison rug with a comfortable, warm texture and color, and for the curtains, I selected linen-style curtains that trail slightly on the floor. Now, it looks like it's almost complete, right? Tip ✨ If you're not quite sure, try saving photos that capture the vibe you want. Browsing through Instagram or Pinterest is a good idea. STEP 3. Now, choose your lighting and table. It is helpful to think about an 'accent' color. If you decorate the entire living room in only white just because you dreamed of a white sofa, the styling might end up looking a bit bland and incomplete. So, I decided to add 'black' accents with small furniture. I kept black in mind when choosing the living room table and lighting. Tip ✨ If you decide on your accent color beforehand, you can somewhat prevent getting stuck in a dilemma when selecting lighting or a table. For example, when it comes to lighting, steel is stylish and black is pretty, so it can be quite a dilemma to decide, right? Since I had 'Black and White' in mind, I was able to choose relatively easily. STEP 4. Hang a picture on the wall to elevate the living room atmosphere once again. While scraping countless living room images on Pinterest, I thought, "I really want to hang a picture with a slightly toned-down pink color." Rather than photos capturing specific landscapes, or landscapes depicting objects, people, or situations, still lifes, or drawings, I wanted an abstract painting that captured the images in my head. However, no matter how much I searched, I couldn't find a picture I liked, so I couldn't hang anything on the wall even long after moving in. Then, I found a painting that captured the image and colors I wanted, so I ordered it right away! Also, because I dislike reflections in the frame, I ordered a style without glass in the front. I wanted it to look like a piece hanging in a gallery. Tip ✨ When choosing the frame, I also utilized 'black,' the accent color I had decided on beforehand.
