In our home, we arranged the items in the order of rice cooker cabinet → sink → countertop → induction cooktop. By placing the sink and induction cooktop as close to both ends as possible and securing ample space in between, we made the cooking area—which is actually used the most—as wide as possible. Also, what I considered important while designing the kitchen was ‘height’! I set the countertop height at 900mm from the floor, and the distance between the upper cabinets and the countertop at 600mm. Thanks to this, even tall people don't have to bend over too much while cooking, and the upper cabinets don't feel like they block the view as much, so even though it's a straight-line kitchen, it doesn't feel cramped and looks much more spacious! On the opposite side, we built a neat refrigerator cabinet and placed a round table next to it. Adding a round table to the straight-line kitchen makes the space look much softer, and we were able to create a dining area without significantly disrupting the flow of movement. If you are planning a straight-line kitchen, before deciding how much storage to include, be sure to consider your actual cooking sequence, the cooking space you need, and the height that is comfortable for you first.🤍
