The Today's House 2026 Design Awards, marking its second year, has begun! It is an award where you can discover a diverse range of domestic design brands, covering furniture, lighting, kitchens, fabrics, home decor, and lifestyle. Last year, browsing through it was fun because I rediscovered my own taste. When choosing items, I tend to prioritize whether the design is timeless and doesn't get boring even after a long time, and whether it naturally blends into the atmosphere of my home, rather than focusing on trendy designs. The Cheongpung lamp by Reul Lighting caught my eye based on those criteria. Its form, which interprets the curves of a fan and a pleated structure in a modern way, is impressive yet doesn't overly assert its presence, serving as a subtle accent in my home, which is predominantly neutral in color. It sits on an empty wall like a single object, creating a feeling that makes the entire space feel a bit calmer and deeper. Ultimately, I think good design is an item that makes you want to keep it close for a long time.
