It was originally meant for standing plates, but I tried converting it into a hanging storage shelf. However, a problem arose here. The cabinet door wouldn't close because of the protruding part. So, the solution I came up with was four re-adhesive hooks from Daiso. Once I hung the shelf on them, the door closing issue was neatly solved! Storage items that are too good to throw away, can be quite useful just by slightly changing their purpose.
