If your towels still smell musty even after washing them, try checking your ‘drying method’ before the washing process. 🧺 Since towels absorb a lot of water, how quickly and thoroughly you dry them after washing is also important. After washing my towels, I tend to spread them out wide so they don't overlap if possible, and let air circulate between them to dry. That is why I use a magnetic drying rack frequently these days! It doesn't take up much extra space for hanging towels, and since I can take them out and use them whenever needed, I find it quite useful for drying towels. 🤍 Also, for towels that have already absorbed a musty smell, I use sodium percarbonate when washing them. Although I see many laundry methods using sodium carbonate these days, after trying it myself, I found that sodium percarbonate is the one I reach for more often for towels. Since sodium percarbonate acts as an oxygen-based bleaching agent as it dissolves in water, it is great for managing white towels or laundry that have absorbed odors. However, please note that this product cannot be used uniformly on all materials and colors, so please be sure to check the washing instructions and the usage guidelines for the sodium percarbonate product. And this is also really important. ✔️ Do not leave towels sitting for too long after washing ✔️ Hang them out wide so they do not overlap ✔️ Dry them thoroughly in a well-ventilated area Ultimately, managing the musty smell of towels requires addressing the washing, rinsing, and drying processes together.
