At first, I liked the fact that the house gets plenty of sun because I enjoyed how bright the interior became from the morning. However, after actually living there, I found the morning sunlight to be stronger than I expected. Especially when sitting at the dining table to eat in the morning or spending time at home, the glare was blinding, and I started to get a little bothered by the strong sunlight constantly coming in. So, I decided to boldly replace the linen curtains I had been using for quite a long time. This time, I chose curtains with UV protection. When choosing curtains, the most important thing for me was not to make the house too dark. I wanted to fully experience the morning light, which is a major advantage of an east-facing house, and since natural light is essential for plants as well. Therefore, rather than curtains that completely block the light, I chose curtains that preserve the natural light while mitigating the strong sunlight. After actually changing them, the morning light felt much softer, and most importantly, I loved that they didn't make the atmosphere inside the house feel too stuffy! Also, the price wasn't as burdensome as I thought; I was able to change the curtains I chose for around 100,000 won. It was just changing the curtains, but the space where I live every day felt a bit more comfortable and less hot. When decorating a home, looking pretty is important, but since it is ultimately a space you live in every day, I think it is also important to make changes one by one to address the inconveniences felt in actual daily life, such as the direction of the house or the lighting.
