What Happens When You Sign a Contract for an Old House Covered in Newspaper 🏚️ From the moment I first visited the property, there were more than a few things that needed fixing. I signed the contract because I wanted to fix it myself, and I started working on it piece by piece 🔨 A construction record presented in photo order 📸 1. During the Site Visit This is what the floor looked like when it was covered in newspaper. At that time, I had no idea what awaited me… 🫠 2. DIY Construction To save money, I did the door frame repairs, cement work, and painting myself. But when I lifted the newspaper, ta-da… a rotten door frame appeared 🚪 There were more things to fix than I thought. 3. Demolition & Tile Work I decided to entrust technical work, such as wallpapering, flooring, and tiling, to a contractor. I did the parts I could handle myself and received help from professionals for the rest. 4. Discovering an Unexpected Leak However, a leak was discovered during the tile work 💦 I thought I just needed to finish the job, but the work started to get bigger and bigger… 5. Eventually, Raising the Floor I called a leak detection company, and in the end, we ended up tearing up the floor. 😇 Unexpected work arose, so we had to readjust both the schedule and the budget. What I learned this time is that when renovating an older house, it is just as important to check the condition of the interior as it is to check the visible finishes. It is also important to leave some leeway in the budget and schedule to prepare for unexpected repairs. 📝 These are photos I couldn't upload because I missed the challenge period, but I want to record the process of fixing it up myself. It was quite a bit harder than I expected, but it was a project that was just as rewarding once it was all done. 🙂↕️👏🏻 Whenever I look at the finished space, I still recall each step of this process. #ThingsThatHappenedDuringRemodeling #셀프시공 #셀프인테리어 #셀프페인팅 #구축인테리어 #구축리모델링 #구축화장실 #누수탐지 #타일시공
