It is the time to prepare clean, bite-sized pieces of fruit for the kids to pick up and eat. Thanks to the vibrant colors of the fruit, I feel like a corner of the kitchen is brightening up. Figs are especially delicious these days. They are sweet yet soft, and their unique texture—popping in your mouth—is so appealing that I find myself putting them on the table often around this time of year. Just looking at the well-ripened figs I've split open makes me feel happy.
