After searching for a round table for 4 years, I chose Knoll's 'Cyclone Dining Table'. In 1954, Isamu Noguchi was asked by Hans Knoll, the founder of Knoll, to make a small dining table. Hans Knoll thought that Isamu Noguchi's wire design would go well with his Heli Bertoia wire chair. That's how the Cyclone Dining Table was born. The design point is the chrome-plated steel wire that goes from the base to the tabletop in the shape of a cyclone (hurricane). It's a design from 1954, 70 years ago, but it's still modern. Is this what mid-century modern is? I'm decorating my old apartment with only furniture and props without any construction. My strategy was to create a balanced mood by adding the modernity of the Cyclone Table to the oldness of the building. I haven't matched the chairs and rugs to the table yet, but I think it was a pretty satisfying choice.
