In the winter, we use electric kettles a lot. What looks like scale on the kettle is 'lime'. If limescale continues to remain, it takes longer to boil water or causes the appliance to malfunction. So I cleaned the inside with citric acid. I recommend washing the inside of the kettle at least once every three months. :)
