This is a room used as a computer room, and since I couldn't replace the flooring, I bought flooring and glued it with gel-type adhesive. I used soundproofing material on the wall near the computer to block out some noise at night. I think it's effective because there's a difference in the echo when you talk in a place where there are people and when you don't.
