When I was young, I used to watch foreign movies where there were always small blankets on beds covered with fluffy bedding. I wondered what they were used for. Then I found out that in some parts of Europe, people wear shoes at home, so they cover their bedding with blankets to prevent contamination. However, I learned that this isn't always the case. When I take a short nap or rest, I don't want to get under the blanket, so I end up lying down with the blanket. Also, when I come in after going out and throw my jacket or bag, the blanket makes it safer to keep my white bedding from getting dirty. Even in the winter, just putting a thin blanket on raises the temperature, so I live 200% utilizing the blanket.
