Moving into a 40-year-old single-family home without remodeling required a lot of courage. My husband and I, who were brave because we didn’t know, had a lot of determination, but we laughed in vain when we spent the day we moved in in a bathroom with only a sink and a toilet. I felt miserable for a moment, washing in the dark with the shower that we barely installed, without any lighting, but I overcame it with the determination to get things done quickly. The day after we moved in, we installed a mirror shelf and lighting, and the bathroom started to look its own. Now that we can shower comfortably, it’s a huge step forward. The unfamiliar space has become a little more like our home. Will we be able to see the completed bathroom soon? Someday, we might reminisce about this day.
