I took out the book shelf that was (sort of) a trademark of my room and put in a transparent acrylic shelf 😊 It's definitely shorter than the book shelf, and because it's transparent, it feels like it really saves space! However, since the top and bottom look a bit ~~~, I'm thinking about putting a rug on the floor and a wall clock or mirror on the wall!
