It’s been six months since I moved in. Since this space serves as both my studio and home, I’ve designed the living room for relaxation and the studio with a hip, neon vibe. I’ve filled the bedroom with plants to give it an arboretum feel. As someone who loves James Turrell’s work, I wanted to balance the tones in each space and create an atmosphere where color seems to linger in the air. I chose yellow tones for the living room wallpaper and curtains, so when light comes in, the entire space turns yellow, creating a dreamy atmosphere. Every morning, I just let loose and indulge in narcissism. The yellow light is so strong that it’s hard to get the exposure right in the photos. When I move to a bigger house, I plan to install Barrisol lights across the entire ceiling. Of course, the ceiling height needs to be high. Since Olympic Park is right in front of the house, I’m thinking about the continuity of 'rest' between nature and my living space. It’s all about healing.
