The far end of our living room~ This is a view of our living room and kitchen, taken from the star rug where the kids play with blocks and GABE, and read books!^^ A floating shelf my husband personally made for me as a Christmas gift, and a bill holder he made for me out of scrap wood, thinking of his wife. Above the bill holder is a double-sided wall clock I received as a newlywed gift 5 years ago! A rocking horse my husband made and gifted to our eldest son after his first birthday. A wooden bench that our kids like even more, placed here instead because they said putting a sofa makes people slump! On the wooden bench are photos printed with a pocket photo printer, pictures decorated using string and clothespins, and a world map hung up for our son, who is currently obsessed with the animation Super Wings and interested in various countries around the world! In the red drawer unit next to the wooden bench are diapers for our second daughter, who still wears diapers, and storage for my husband and me's socks! Next to the CD rack is a front-facing bookshelf I prepared to stimulate my child's interest in books, which I bought as a gift for their first birthday! In the kitchen, an IKEA step stool I bought and assembled because I am short and found it inconvenient to reach items on high shelves. A paperback with dried statice flowers stuck in it. On the kitchen shelf are a cassette player and various candles. Soy candles and a diffuser I made myself. Even a rose pot with an organdy ribbon I made myself! In front of the shelf is a white teapot-shaped accent light with a yellow bulb. On the poster next to the shelf is an anniversary poster with our anniversary date written on it! A Market B storage cabinet I assembled all night by myself to keep the miscellaneous items in the kitchen and our house tidy! A vintage metal magazine rack installed above the kimchi refrigerator. Next to it is a pegboard my husband hung up! I thought placing a dining table would make the space look cramped, so instead I had a custom-built, adjustable island counter installed! In the glass cabinet to the left of the island counter, my record collection—tapes and CDs—that I've been collecting since childhood are neatly stacked~ When I bought and remodeled this 9-year-old apartment, I intentionally left the moldings untouched because the colors weren't too dark and looked nice. Now, as I've decorated various parts with solid wood, it seems like everything has become harmonious. This is our living room and kitchen^-^
