For the kitchen, I completely replaced the sink and laid new tiles over the existing ones. I read a post saying that glossy tiles are best for food stains, so I proceeded that way. It definitely feels easier to clean food splatters, stains, and stubborn grime with glossy tiles compared to matte ones. Although styles without upper cabinets are trending, the interior designer advised against it, saying there is no storage space and it becomes really inconvenient and messy in daily life over time. So, I decided to keep the upper cabinets. I'm glad I listened to the designer! The kitchen layout is L-shaped, and I initially planned to create a U-shape by adding an island. However, I decided against it because an island counter would make it awkward to place a dining table and would require a long detour to get to the utility room. Since an island counter doesn't create an open-plan kitchen and lacks functionality, I decided against it. Now that I've installed a white induction cooktop and a white dishwasher, I am satisfied with how clean and uncluttered the colors are in the kitchen.
