The reason I chose a solid wood countertop—which is my dream kitchen but everyone advises against—was because I'm terrible at cooking and don't use the kitchen much. However, since I'm so bad at housekeeping, even wiping up the water after washing dishes isn't easy. I think the best thing about interior design is being able to customize cabinets to fit the furniture. The Bespoke refrigerator and microwave fit perfectly, and I had the sink custom-made so that the rice cooker and dishes wouldn't be visible. I spent a lot of time deciding not to put anything on the sink counter, but the reality is that it's cluttered again with the water purifier, bread box, and electric kettle. I switched from an electric stove to an induction cooktop, and it's a whole new world where water boils in just one minute. Since I set up the induction cooktop face-to-face, I'm most satisfied that I can communicate with my child even while I'm in the kitchen.
