This is the focal point of our home, and the space I put the most effort into for my only son. I wanted to create a space that could serve as his own secret hideout. Initially, I planned to set up a separate room, but since my son is a clingy little boy who insists on being with his mom at everything—whether playing or doing anything else—I decided to create a space between the living room and the kitchen. My hope was that he could be happy in the back while I did housework or Mom and Dad had a drink. Utilizing the pantry also definitely helped save on costs.
