We are a newlywed couple living in a detached house in the tranquil neighborhood of Seochon. Since we started working from home, we have been spending more time indoors. As the dining room is where we spend the most time, we decided to match the overall tone and style to create a cafe-style wood atmosphere. We anchored the space with a walnut-colored round dining table, adding a sense of weight while maximizing space utilization. We also matched two types of chairs to create a cafe-like ambiance. We laid down a bright-colored water lily rug, which offers a pleasant scent and texture regardless of the season, to complement the walnut color, which could otherwise appear stuffy and heavy. The four-door cabinet visible in the background is our home's secret weapon. Since the doors allow us to clip books or postcards, my husband and I, who enjoy listening to LPs, often take out the LP of the day and use it for interior decoration, much like a magazine or poster. Additionally, to prevent the wood interior from becoming monotonous and tiresome, we tend to add variety with colored curtains or fabrics to keep the space from becoming boring while still allowing us to feel the seasonal vibe.
