Studio Apartment with a zen living concept for Urban Workers Hey! Greetings to meet you all, I am Stefanny Dwitama, the designer who designed this apartment unit, 50 Zen Living. This apartment is located in Cikarang with a studio type which has an area of around 25m2. The design and renovation process for this studio unit takes approximately 1.5 months until the interior fit-out stage. 50 Zen Living, originally the name was taken from this studio apartment because it is on the 50th floor and zen living is a minimalist or simple lifestyle that focuses on balance and harmony between body and mind; because the location is in an industrial area and has developed into an urban area. The client is very concerned about the comfort of every corner of this room and wants to still have a small home-like atmosphere but can do any activity. The client wants this unit to be designed for workers who need temporary accommodation with a concept like a boutique hotel; by providing complete amenities and a layout created with an open space concept so that the room feels spacious and there are no space boundaries. The client wants to have a lot of storage so that items are well organized and the bed made with the murphy bed / folding bed system functions so that the room can be used for other activities such as; home workout, yoga or tenants can invite friends or colleagues to come gather in this unit. By adapting to the client's wishes, the design style that I apply is modern Japandi (Japanese Scandinavian) with harmonious colors and shapes adapted to a layout that supports relaxed and comfortable home-like activities. After looking at the existing conditions that had been given, I used the outdoor air conditioning embankment to become a daybed (bench) and a work desk position facing the window; so you can work while looking at the city view. Wardrobe is made openly because it is adapted to the needs for short-term stays. The materials used throughout are low maintenance materials so that clients are more efficient in carrying out maintenance. The color scheme chosen is natural colors with black accents to make it bolder and the natural color of the wood material gives a warm impression in every corner of this apartment space. last but not least, supporting elements such as photo frame decorations on the walls which make a more homey impression.
