While most houses with limited space combine the living area and living room, we chose to separate them, of course so that all the mess in the house doesn't become apparent when there are guests hehee... Our living room is integrated with the dining room, there is an opening to the side of the house (yellow door) for daily access for the residents of the house. For decorating a room with a Japanese theme, it is an option. However, if there is an event with a large number of guests, we usually move the sofa aside and spread out a carpet so that we can accommodate more people.
