In my opinion, to maximize space the key is in the furniture. For example, in this study, because we are still using old furniture, of course the size is not proportional to the space we have. Moreover, the old cupboard from my in-laws which is now our portable warehouse takes up quite a lot of space in my opinion, even though it could be utilized and maximized for other items.
