For me, decoration that is simple but can change the atmosphere is in lighting & plants. Nowadays there are lots of cute lamps at affordable prices, just adding a warm white bulb can change the vibe of your house completely. Likewise with plants, they don't have to be expensive plants, the important thing is that they are well cared for.
