When my husband’s grandmother passed away in 2016, her house, which was about 3000 square meters in size, was put up for sale. However, it was difficult to find a buyer interested in purchasing such a large property. Long story short, my husband had a college friend who was a cluster developer. When he visited and saw the grandmother’s house, he agreed to collaborate with us. This cluster would be built on our land, designed and marketed by the developer, and we would share in the proceeds from the property sales. There are a total of 18 houses in the Ruma Setu cluster, and we took two units. Our house is on a corner. Our house was completed at the end of 2018, along with two other houses used as show homes (see slides 4 & 5). We renovated it in 2021 by adding a rooftop and laundry room. At the beginning of 2023, we added a full canopy on the rooftop with an open-close roof model, as we wanted to use the area to play ping pong. We maintained the original façade and design of the house as provided by the developer. For the house design and room layout, we followed the original design by the architect, Ferdy Apriady - Ayya Architects. That is our home journey; I hope it inspires you who read this. #MyHomeStory #PerjalananRumahku #CeritaRumahku #rumahcluster #theABChaven
