The living room gets narrower when I put a dining table there, so I put island chairs on the island table (although there is no space to put my feet in) and use it as an island table. I didn't make any space to put my feet in because I need storage and a microwave oven! The part where the chair touches my butt is wide, so it's very comfortable. I can even put my dad's legs in it^^ It's sturdy and white, just like my house.
