#리모델링하다생긴일 It’s already been a year and a half since I moved in. When I lived in a house, I loved summers like this because I enjoyed the rich, humid scent of grass and the increasingly vivid greenery. But now that I’ve moved into an apartment with a view that’s just not great, I’m not really impressed by the view outside the window anymore 😅 Still, apartments are definitely convenient! (Looking at the pre-renovation photos for the first time in a while, that chandelier gives me goosebumps...) Since so many people have been asking for interior design information, I’ve been thinking about creating some content, so I thought I’d share a little bit of the details. Our house is a 15-year-old duplex apartment, so it is quite large. It was a long renovation project that took about two months because there were so many structural and plumbing changes I wanted—almost like rebuilding the house from scratch. When I was visiting properties, the things I considered most important were whether the layout allowed for an open-plan kitchen, proximity to elementary, middle, and high schools, a nearby subway station, and commercial and academy districts. This house just caught my eye. Then, as if by fate, it was a duplex with a terrace, and a 15-year-old building, haha. I impulsively signed the contract without hesitation and started the renovation. The first material I chose was Yerim HP522 film. It is an eco-friendly material that was suitable for a living space with a child, and with a texture similar to actual paint, it was the best choice for me, as I had always dreamed of painting. I also really wanted a molding-free installation. We added woodworking to the entire wall, so we ended up using film instead of wallpaper. (The wallpaper is on the ceiling.) I didn't like pure white, and I prefer a toned-down, warm, greige vibe, so I excluded pure white and chose this combination.
