Expectation vs. Reality: Building My Dream Kitchen This white kitchen has been in my dreams for a long time. Finally, it came true at the end of 2021—two years after we moved into this house. In addition to having to prepare a budget, I was also quite selective in choosing a designer and contractor. After much consideration, the choice fell on Hyde Living. The cost of designing and building this kitchen was around 50 million rupiah, not including kitchen appliances and additional accessories such as IKEA shelves, knobs, and small plant decorations that beautify the room. In slides 2 and 3, you can see a comparison between the rendering image and the actual result. It turns out, it's very similar! The only difference is that we decided not to install a cooker hood because the roof was already tightly closed and did not allow for ducting. Now, cooking is more fun! 🌸 Living Room Night Vibe 🌸 Between wanting to be more romantic or saving electricity, we often turn off the main lights in this house, and only install a few small-watt lamps and warm white lights at night, ehehehe 😅 Because the concept of this house is (very) open space, in one photo you can also see the dining room which is adjacent to the living room, only separated by a partition that I customized at a welding workshop near the house with hollow iron and iron plate materials. The journey to find a Grava House house began at the end of 2020 and at the beginning of 2021 decided to choose this house because of its beautiful location, wide road rows, close to the workplace and not far from the city but the atmosphere is like in the countryside so it feels peaceful and not noisy. One of the rooms in the house that I think is very important is the kitchen. In this place, you can spend a long time cooking your family's favorite food. So it is important to make it as comfortable as possible. I designed my kitchen to be minimalist with a Japandi theme using wooden furniture and a white granite counter top. This is to make it look more spacious. My kitchen is 3x3 in size. I haven't improved the lower cabinets but only made it neater by covering it with plastic squares of tablecloths that I cut. In addition, I can see inspiration for designing a kitchen on Pinterest and the rest follows the kitchen layout by trying out decorations with details that match the theme. So my kitchen is classified as low budget in terms of decoration because I DIY almost everything. and the selection of items is also not too expensive, the important thing is to find the right color and function.
