“how this wallpaper inspired my laundry room”
The wallpaper that started it all… my laundry room was painfully builder grade. There I was cruising down the isles of Walmart when I stumbled upon this beauty. My jaw dropped when I saw the price! $29 a roll?! I immediately bought it and plan the rest of my design around it. The cabinet color is pewter green by Sherwin-Williams and it’s a match made in heaven for this wallpaper.

Our 120+ year old Victorian home is beautiful, but it presents a few challenges for modern living. The laundry room is in the basement, and there isn’t a great spot to relocate it. Until we have the budget to figure that out, I decided to transform the laundry area into something less scary. Luckily, it had many beautiful features already, like the bead board paneling, and the cool, old sink with a soapstone backsplash. I leaned into those features as I designed and use some awesome vintage pieces – like the prison laundry cart, glass jars, and ladder for hanging clothes. 💡Important tips for those of you who just want to make a skylight in the kitchen.
As much as possible, don't align it with the work area/kitchen table in the kitchen so that sunlight doesn't fall along our work area in the kitchen. If it's dry, the heat is excruciating on the skin. It's best to make it across like my kitchen because the sunlight will fall through and there is still cool space that we can freely use for preparing food.
Slide 4 Laundry room
The laundry room area with an area of 2.8mx1.92m uses a solartuff roof. This service area is also designated as a place for ironing. One way to keep this space clean and aesthetic is not to display too many objects that are not related to the function of this room.

Slide 6 Landing
This landing was deliberately decorated so as not to be too empty. Just enough decoration because if it is too much it will become cramped and disrupt the flow up and down the stairs. There are purposely mirrors so that when the children come down from their rooms and get ready for school, they can take the time to see whether their appearance/clothes are neat.

Take a peek at our laundry room which people say is like a bumpy alley. Because the width is 1.10m, length 5m, this is a personal project, we bought all the materials ourselves. This mini laundry room in the Casadeharsa house chooses a touch of sage green to match the facade of the house. This mini laundry room is a "dry" type, not a wet one, so we chose a sink with a basin model that is inward so that when washing the water does not spill onto the floor area.
