Through Rumatuju, I tried to reorganize the developer's house by optimizing its function as effectively and efficiently as possible due to limited land. You could say that the interior design of this house uses a "modern contemporary" concept. Here, the contemporary concept in interior design does not only take modern elements. Instead, utilize natural material elements such as wood throughout the rooms in the house. This is different from most houses with limited land which mostly use a dominant white color combination to make it roomy. This Rumatuju was designed based on personal preference who likes black. Create a master bedroom with a palette of warm schemes. Moody colors are really ideal for the backdrop to warm our bedroom from day and night, by adding some personal pieces to decorate the corner, it makes more intimate. For me, an art lover, part of the backdrop for the main bedroom deliberately leaves part of the wall only finished with white paint without panels. This wall area can be used to place painting accessories, art displays or even be used for future ideas. On a journey to live consciously in #61sqmeter #smarthome [Part-2] Kitchen designs in very limited space require the upper kitchen cabinet to be maximized up to the ceiling. The kitchen set design is custom made to be multifunctional and space-saving. The design is made to follow the shape of the existing space, namely adapting to the width and height of the kitchen area. The work on the kitchen set is carried out by carpenters, separately from the work on the kitchen table top. This dressing table is the result of a work desk makeover that was used 8 years ago. Re-coated, to look like veneer, enhanced with repaint and replacement of knobs. By taking inspiration from the mid-century furniture style, I added a round mirror to the work table which was used as a dressing table so that the vintage impression balances with the modern one. Apart from that, it is combined with local materials, namely natural rattan. This rattan is an aesthetic, natural accent in the corner of the main bedroom. The countertop area of this dressing table can be used to place decorative accessories and other art displays. The process of building my first house was a journey of finding and arranging residential designs and art that were adapted to the existing conditions of the developer's house. Both the architecture of the building and the interior of the rooms in the house use contemporary designs which I sketched and put in the form of material boards. This contemporary modern design depicts something that is flexible and always changing. Because, as time goes by, new materials and tools (may) continue to increase and/or change according to future needs. To build it, I got help from my colleague who works as an interior contractor. Combining two colors, namely the natural color of wooden elements and black materials for the focal point of the kitchen area design. The presence of wood eliminates the stiff impression of black while giving a warm feel to the surroundings. In areas that are often used for cooking, I use black to make cleaning easier. Meanwhile, for the kitchen walls, I applied white ceramic material to make it brighter. By using this white ceramic, I can add dried flower decorations to the countertop, to make the kitchen more colorful. This kitchen area always looks neat, because all kitchen objects and equipment are stored in the kitchen set cabinet. The dressing table area in the master bedroom is my favorite room in the house. Because I spend more time before sleeping in this room. After coming home from work late and after doing cleaning activities, I usually spend time reading a book on this table before I go to bed. Actually, the main function of this area is as a dressing table. However, because the dimensions of this dressing table are large, it can accommodate reading and several other activities. Initially, this dressing table was the result of a makeover of a work table that had been used 8 years ago, by utilizing old furniture that had been refinished. The bed is one of the essential pieces of furniture in the house and is my favorite. Apart from supporting rest time, the bed can also be a decorative element that helps improve aesthetics. This Rumatuju bed design is inspired by the timeless design of Bika Furniture. The bed is custom-made and consists of three parts, namely the bed (cot), side table and headbed panel which are made together. All three do not use HPL finishing but use white oak veneer finishing to get the natural properties of the wood material. Due to limited land, and adapting to space requirements, from the start I decided to make a custom long dining table, so that the impression was more spacious and more activities could be accommodated at the dining table. For this living table as well as a dining table, I used black to make cleaning it easier. Meanwhile, the walls were covered with panels with vertical accents, and provided with wooden shelves so that I could add decorative dried flowers, table lamps and speakers to complement the TV.
