I’ve always been a homebody at heart, so it didn’t take long for me to start personalizing my space. One quiet afternoon about five years ago, while sitting at home, it hit me: If I’m spending so much time here, shouldn’t this space feel more like me? That same day, I picked up a bucket of paint and started painting a few pieces of furniture, and I’ve been slowly shaping my home ever since. I’m naturally drawn to vibrant, gem-like colors of fruits, flowers, and minerals, and I’ve filled this home with colors that make me feel good. My place is a loft-style studio, with everyday living happening on the lower level and a growing hobby zone upstairs. It’s compact, but full of life. Living Room This is the view from the loft. The ceiling height makes the whole space feel more open and bright—it's what sold me on the place.

Hi, I'm Anthony Cane (Instagram: @anticonuovo_buildingstudio), a 34-year-old architect with design-build experience in residential, commercial, and hospitality projects across the US and UK. In my spare time, I'm passionate about travel & history, photography, graphic design, music production, running, and yoga – and I also enjoy building custom furniture with reclaimed construction materials. My home is located in 7th Ward, New Orleans. I chose this neighborhood for its proximity to the city center and its friendly vibe. The affordability of the property was a big factor. I'm living in a renovated double shotgun home, common to this area. I've lived here since 2018, and the renovation was completed in 2020.
