While Fabre is famous for his stories about insects, I didn’t know he had such deep affection for plants as well. From the cover, the warm art style surrounded by green leaves made me eager to open the book. The story begins with the bud where a plant is born, and continues through tree rings, stems, bark, roots, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds. As a plant caretaker, it was an incredibly fascinating story, and for me, who finds hope in the trees and flowers in the mountains and in nature, it was an even more exciting subject. I absorbed the stories Fabre told so easily, as if I were a kindergarten child again. My understanding of botanical illustrations and intricate photographs skyrocketed, and I was truly thrilled to go on a plant exploration, applying what I learned to every tree and flower I encountered while walking through the mountains💚 The most interesting topics among them were tree rings and flowers. Tree rings form only when there is a cambium layer inside the stem. Without it, tree rings do not form, and I learned that the tulips, hyacinths, and daffodils I planted and grew this spring were actually such flowers🌷 It was even more interesting to learn in detail that the cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, and apricot blossoms, which are so beautiful these days, are also monoecious flowers, meaning they have both pistils and stamens in a single bloom🌸 As I learn more about my life with plants, I realize how fascinating it has become. The world of plants is even more amazing once you know the details. I saw that the life cycle of plants is no different from our own lives, and I saw just how much interest and affection Fabre had for them. I was also truly grateful for the heart that carefully explained the stories so that they could be easily approached by anyone, from children to adults. From tree bark to wood and fruit, plants give everything to humans for free, yet they never boast about it. The main beams of a house, furniture, books, newspapers, cork stoppers, rubber, perfume, medicine, fabrics, musical instruments. Countless things have come from plants. Plants offer their bodies without distinguishing between rich and poor people. p.115 . . . #FabreStoriesOfPlants #사계절출판사 #식물책 #플랜테리어 #식물 #plants #책 #식물 #식물일기 #식물인테리어 #행잉플랜트 #행잉식물 #행잉화분 #맞팔 #맞팔해요
