Paint the border whatever color you desire. Mine is a natural linen color. I did a 1:1 ratio of the paint I had on hand and white to create a custom, light and neutral color. 3. Use joint compound and a 3 inch putty knife to create checkers. Alternate horizontal and vertical strokes. 4. Create the border. My design style has shifted a lot over the years, but I’ve always gravitated toward moody tones. We sold our previous home in 2022, after just completing the renovation. I had dubbed the title of that project the Moody Nordic Cottage – going for a Scandinavian meets vintage look. I love black and white, so that was my base for every room. I softened it up with some warm neutrals, and added some drama with a few deeper colors here and there. I also created some vintage charm and texture that was lacking in the 50s Cape. The boldest choice I made was going with black for our kitchen cabinets. We loved the way it all turned out! I find that using a few words to describe the vibe you want your home to give off is so helpful in selecting materials and furnishings. I had this in my cart for awhile, was hesitant due to some of the reviews, and there were very little reviews for the oval, which is what I purchased. I decided to take a chance and buy them. Some of the reviews did mention the instructions not being very clear, which I felt I only “struggled” with 2 of the steps. I chose to build one at a time, start to finish to work out any kinks if needed, took about an hour to put together the first. Granted I took my time, I would also recommend organizing all of your pieces on the floor and read the instructions start to finish prior to putting it together. The second one I put together in 30 minutes or less.A handful of the reviews show and have complaints of the doorknobs not lining up. I did not have that issue whatsoever.Advice if you purchase this: step 2 should have added to insert 6 letter A’s PRIOR to step 3. Step 3 doesn’t specify which 6 holes to place the letter A’s (there’s a total of 8, same sized holes). I will post a picture and circle the holes in blue that they need to be inserted in, as that was 1 mistake I made but was quickly caught.Step 9: attaching the magnetic pieces to the inside of the doors-do this at step 7, just trust me. Way easier, no risk of feeling like you’re going to snap the door off while holding the door, applying pressure and screwing the piece in.Aside from those 2 very very minimal issues within the instructions, I am really happy with this purchase. The magnets are strong, holds the door shut. I do have a toddler and they’re able to open the doors, they do have to work for it a little bit to get them open! Very easy for an adult to do. The shelves do hold weight pretty well, my child chose to test that out, shelf holds 30oz lbs without breaking. They are heavier than I expected, which is what I wanted. They are much better quality than IKEA furniture, more solid and sturdy.TV on the stand is 55” for reference.I was also worried there was nothing behind the rattan pieces, but it’s actually very sturdy and backed by wood.I chose to not put the backing on for now, due to us using it under the tv, want to be able to access the plugs and have them pushed up flush to the wall.Just buy it already! #TVStand #ScandinavianDesign #RattanFurniture

2-Year Honest Review of My Kitchen & Home Essentials 1. Louis Poulsen portable lamps (⭐️5/5) I’ve been using two of these for a while — one sadly broke, but I still adore them. The mood completely changes depending on whether the light is off, on, or set to one of the three brightness levels. They never feel boring, and since they’re portable, they’re perfect for moving around and styling different corners of the home. 2. Laguiole knives (⭐️5/5) They come in different sizes and styles for every purpose, and I use them all the time. The wooden block keeps them clean and beautifully organized. Super sharp and satisfying to use! 3. Sabre vintage butter knife (⭐️5/5) The vintage blade looks so beautiful every time I see it, and it adds a lovely mood to any table setting. I’ve been putting it in the dishwasher almost every day for four years, and it’s still perfectly fine — incredibly durable! 4. Zara Home floral earthenware (⭐️4/5) I’ve been using the dinner, dessert, side, and serving plates for two years now. They have a charming vintage vibe that feels much more expensive than they are. They’re dishwasher and microwave safe, but they do get very hot in the microwave, and a couple of plates have chipped. Still, I reach for the side plates all the time — especially love how the green set has a slightly warm ivory tone, while the blue floral set is cooler white, so they each pair differently with other tableware. 5.
